The vocal here sounds heavier, darker than another upload, which sounds more like the Denver I recall. Compare this other version posted by ken198325.
Are you sure this is John Denver? His voice sounds heavier, the timbre is darker. Maybe the speed was slowed down but this doesn’t sound like Denver, though the vocal is almost identical (phrasing) apart from the timbre.

ii had a crush on a girl anne at my school ,i sang her with this song,but never asked her out.i thought of her often over the years and last year she contacted me andtold meshe was dying,we realised we both fancied each other,we were tomeet the following sat she was rushed into emergency, i arrived just in time,we had our first kiss there and then and she was gone,as in the tune she died in my arms,i love this tune soooooo much and miss her and regret i never got to be with her
